Nail shape matters

I feel makeup is a way of expressing yourself. You can assume someone’s personality by the things they post, what they read, the things they wear and so on. I personally feel that your nail shape is expressing you as a person. The shape and length say more about you than the design and color. Black nailpolish on short rounded nails is different from black nail polish on long sharp stiletto nails right?

Toomucheyeliner

Hello! So for this weeks tutorial I thought I would change things up a bit. I learned how to apply makeup from the internet, mostly youtube, but the girls I watched on the internet had bigger eyes than me. This made it very hard for me because I don’t have a crease or a lot of eyelid space. And things that look good on bigger eyes may not look so good on smaller eyes. So I thought it would be cool to feature different eye shapes on this blog because not everyone has the same eye shape as me. And the way I apply my makeup is specific to my eye shape. I asked my beautiful friend from http://16ouncesofcoffee.wordpress.com/ to be my model for a look that is geared more for monolid eyes.

Don’t be a sheep

Doing what everyone else is doing is not always a good thing. People are so easily persuaded and once someone does or says something with the  utmost confidence and a few good arguments they can convince a few people that what they are saying is logical and thus fact. Then others will see this group of people and agree too, but not because they personally feel it is correct but out of fear they will stand out. Because everyone else thinks this way so they should too. They could also be doing what everyone else is doing because they don’t know a lot about the topic to form an opinion and don’t want to be left out. This is true for makeup. There are a lot of products I have not tried yet but I see so many youtubers give great reviews and online it has great reviews on the one product so I assume it must be good and vice versa. And I’m not saying these reviews are bad and they are lying. But everyone is different and how can you truly know how you feel if you never tried it?

Learning to Let Go

Inspirational words that touch feelings you have been trying to keep concealed from a beautiful and inspirational person. Her words hit me hard because I am the kind of person that does not like change. As I got older I realized that people, places and things will change and there is nothing we can do about it. We just have to hold on to the memories we had with those people and the memories of things we did at those places. Learning to let go is part of growing up, and this blog post showed me that you can’t dwell on the past if you want to move forward.

Heart and Soul

Learning to let go of something that gave you so much to smile about is hard. I’ll admit this. I may be only 16 years old, but there is so many memories I have made with people in just these 16 years, it scares me to think about how much more I’m going to make with new people later in my life. I realize that memories are things that we keep forever. Things that we look back on and smile at because at one point, that moment was all that ever mattered. But then, people change. Things change. Something changes and nothing really is the same as it used to be.

Easy heart nails

Hello! Happy Monday.

So we all know Valentine’s Day is coming up. Some people hate it, some love it and others don’t care. I personally don’t care so that is why I did not want to call this nail look “Valentine’s Day look” because I wear hearts on my nails everyday. Psh. I should wear black nails on Valentine’s Day…
